The ACT Government is seeking advice on draft specifications for a tender to establish support to community providers in their preparation for the NDIS through:
- providing a central point of information about NDIS community organisation preparation;
- making resources available which develop and support a sustainable, innovative, market focussed, person-centred ACT disability sector able to respond to the service needs of NDIS participants and operate in the NDIS context of individualised funding;
- making resources available which complement other available resources and have the potential to have transferrable application;
- facilitating partnerships and communities of practice between community providers with each other and private enterprise which have the potential to be sustainable beyond the life of this project;
- leveraging off learnings, understood good practice and other sources of sector development investment.
This tender will also progress the ACT Sector Development Program work for the benefit of the entire ACT community sector, through:
· increasing the capacity of ACT community sector organisations to respond to the challenges of a rapidly changing funding, legislative and compliance environment;
- strengthening the skills and capacities of leaders in community sector organisations to achieve organisational success; and
- delivering a pre-designed module on Collaboration and Strategic Alliance which will be available to all ACT human service organisations (ie not only those intending to provide NDIS services).
