 | | | | Self Advocacy Groups Advocacy for Inclusion run two weekly Self-Advocacy Groups, Wednesday 2pm-4pm at the Woden Community Services, 26 Corinna St Woden (behind Chemist Warehouse Woden) and Thursdays 1pm-3pm at the Griffin Centre, Genge St, Canberra City. The self-advocacy groups are open to anyone with a disability who wants to learn more about speaking up for themselves and making their own decisions. The weekly meeting, it gives a chance to meet new friends, develop new skills and learn more about issues that matter to you. Topics include NDIS, Conflict resolution, Voting, privacy and your rights. This is a free service. This workshop is highly interactive and includes examples, question and answer sessions, small group work, and individual worksheets and scenarios. Participants will gain an understanding of the barriers facing women with disabilities in addressing violence in their lives and good practice strategies to address these barriers.
