Early Days Workshop | Play and Social Learning
Thu 21 May 2015 | 9:30am - 12:30pm
Autism Asperger ACT, Chifley Health & Wellbeing Hub, Eggleston Crescent, Chifley
This is a free workshop in the Early Days initiative and is aimed at parents and carers of children, under the age of 7 years, diagnosed with an ASD.
Children with ASD may play in ways that are different to their friends. It is during play that children build and refine their social skills. This short workshop helps participants understand why their child's play is different and provides them with ideas to help the child develop. The emphasis of this workshop is on giving parents ideas on how to help their child to develop a skill base for play and socialising. These two things are intimately linked as through play with others the child learns about, trials and modifies their social skills.
