ACT Disability and Community Services Commissioner Vacancy

The Disability and Community Services Commissioner is seeking a highly
motivated person with substantial experience in the disability sector to
provide expert advice on disability issues to contribute to the development
of the National Disability Insurance Scheme in the ACT. The successful
candidate will be an adviser to the ACT NDIS Taskforce and will manage a
small team within the Commission. Details are in the Government Gazette of

Please note that while the position is advertised as within the Justice and
Community Safety Directorate, the ACT Human Rights Commission is an
independent statutory authority. This position is in the jurisdiction of the
Disability and Community Services Commissioner within the Human Rights
Commission. The Commission comprises three Commissioners who operate from a
model of collegiality and there is no administrative head. Each of the three
Commissioners have equal seniority and decision making authority within the
Commission.
