National Disability Insurance Scheme update 34 Dear Friends It's really happening! The NDIS Agency has already been on the ground talking to people in launch sites about the start of the NDIS from July this year.
Now the Agency has identified the offices in all four launch sites that start in July and is now working to set up the offices.
The regional offices will be in Charlestown in New South Wales, Geelong in Victoria, Elizabeth and St Mary's in South Australia and Devonport, Launceston and Hobart in Tasmania.
The Agency will employ around 220 people in the regional offices by the time the scheme starts and is also looking for local people to work in regional offices, including: o Planners who will work with people to develop their individual supports; o Local Area Coordinators who will help people with disability participate in their community and access their other support needs through the NDIS; and o Financial managers, technical staff and administrators. Planner positions were advertised last week, and more jobs will be advertised in coming weeks.
The Agency is committed to being a model employer for people with disability and wants people with disability to apply for the advertised vacancies.
