Submissions re BSWAT temporary exempt application are now publicly available on the website


Submissions in relation to the temporary exemption application by the Department of Social Services (DSS) (formerly the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs (FaHCSIA) are now available for viewing here: https://www.humanrights.gov.au/department-families-housing-communities-and-indigenous-affairs-fahcsia.

Submissions in relation to this temporary exemption application closed on 30 October 2013.

This application is made pursuant to section 44 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (Cth) (DDA). The applicant seeks to temporarily exempt all existing Australian Disability Enterprises (ADEs) from sections 15 and 24 of the DDA and the Commonwealth from section 29 of the DDA. The applicant seeks the temporary exemption to address the implications of the Federal Court Judgment: Nojin & Prior v Commonwealth [2012] FCAFC 192.
