FREE PUBLIC SEMINAR: PROTECT YOURSELF FROM SCAMS AND ABUSES
The Australian and Competition and Consumer Commission and staff from the Elder Abuse Prevention Phone Line will be conducting a free public seminar on the latest types of scams and the different types of elder abuse.
While we would all like to think that scams only happen to others, the reality is that it can happen to anybody. However, if you are better able to recognise a scam you can reduce the likelihood of being a victim, whether it's a lottery notification, romance service or 'work from home' job advertisement. Likewise, elder abuse can take many forms and come from unexpected quarters, and you need to know what to look out for and what you can do.
