National Disability Awards - closing 20 July

Dear friends and colleagues

Do you know someone who is making a difference for people with disability,
if so, why not nominate them for a National Disability Award this year?

In 2009 approximately one in five Australians reported having a disability
and there are many organisations and individuals who are making a
difference.

If you know of an organisation or a person who does great things take a few

Australians celebrate International Day of People with Disability annually
on 3 December. This is a United Nations sanctioned day, which is a
collaborative effort to recognise the contributions, skills and achievements
of people with disability. The National Disability Awards form part of these
celebrations and this year will be held in Canberra on 28 November 2012.

In 2012 there are nine award categories which include:

. Minister's Award for Excellence in Disability Reform

. Emerging Leaders Award

. Excellence in Accessible Communities Award

. Excellence in Improving Social Participation Award

. Excellence in Advocacy & Rights Promotion Award

. Excellence in Improving Employment Opportunities Award

. Excellence in Improving Personal and Community Support Award

. Excellence in Improving Education Outcomes Award

. Excellence in Improving Health Outcomes Award

Nominate someone who makes you proud and/or works to build access and
inclusion today.

Nominations close 5pm AEST Friday 20 July 2012 and we understand that it's
unlikely there will be an extension of this deadline this year, so get in
quick.
