2013 Tenant Participation Grants Now Open

Housing ACT provides funding under the Tenant Participation Grants (TPG) program to ACT public and community housing tenants who have an idea for activities/ projects that promote participation in the community. People may select to apply for a grant for the following:

Individual projects

• A maximum of $500 per grant available for people to access arts, sports and recreation programs or
• A maximum of $1000 per grant available for education, employment and training opportunities.

Group projects

• A maximum of $5000 per project for groups of tenants within public and community housing.

Please note that, due to the high number of grant applications received in 2012, in 2013 only one grant application per person will be accepted. More than one application per family is permitted however.

Woden Community Service is working with Housing ACT with the Tenant Participation Grants. Our role is to support people with their application, as well as auspicing the funding once granted.

To assist in the application process there are a number of ways we can support including:

Information Sessions
These sessions will be held in partnership with Housing ACT and is a great opportunity to ask all your questions. There are a variety of sessions including:
• Tuesday 11 September 10am to 12pm at Woden Community Service (26 Corinna St Woden),
• Wednesday 19 September 12 to 2pm at Housing ACT, Nature Conservation House Emu Bank Belconnen,
• Monday 24 September 130 to 330pm at Woden Community Service (26 Corinna St Woden) and
• Thursday 4 October 10am to 12pm at Housing ACT, Nature Conservation House Emu Bank Belconnen

Free Transport is available (and is wheelchair accessible) if required please contact 6282 2644 to book.

Drop In Sessions
If you can't make these times, then no problem. Please drop in for support with your application or make an appointment during the following times:
• Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Housing ACT, Belconnen; support provided by the Supportive Tenancy Service team; please let the Housing ACT concierge know you are requiring support with the Tenant Participation Grants and/or
• Fridays at Woden Community Service 9am to 4pm; call 6282 2644 for an appointment.
