Get Into Reading at the Belconnen Community Centre

GET INTO READING encourages social contact and engagement,
self-confidence, stimulation and imagination, personal reflection,
encouragement to share thoughts and feelings, improvement in literacy, a
sense of well-being and inclusiveness!

WHAT IS IT? The basic model is very simple, reading aloud by a
facilitator and then by group members who wish to join in with the
reading. Everyone is welcome. No need to be "a reader" or even
literate.

WHO BENEFITS? A wide range of people including those that feel
isolated, people living with depression or anxiety, and people living
with dementia

WHAT IS IT NOT? A conventional book club or reading group, a group of
literary buffs, there's no requirement to do any private reading or
participate vocally, it is entirely confidential but it's nice to know
first names, there is no need to attend regularly

HOW DO I ENROL? Call 6264 0232 to register. Any enquiries can be
directed to John Vance on 6264 0202.

The group will start on Tuesday the 16th October 2012 at the Belconnen
Community Centre in room 1 from 10-11:30 am. Participants will need to
register with LPACT and there is no cost to participate.
