Learn about rights and self-advocacy for people with disabilities
■Understand human rights for people with disabilities and how they may be applied every day
■Gain confidence to support people with disabilities making their own decisions
■ Gain skills to promote and support self-advocacy

Come along to a Supporting Self-advocacy and Human Rights workshop

Who:
Anyone interested in learning to support people with disabilities to speak up for themselves within a human rights framework : community and support workers, family members, teachers, coaches, neighbours - you.

What:
In this course you will learn about:
■ Human rights for people with disabilities, including guiding documents, conventions and law
■Advocacy, self-advocacy and supported decision making
■ Balancing duty of care, dignity of risk and self-advocacy
■ Skills and strategies to assist people to develop their self-advocacy skills
■ Local resources & information

Please note the content of this workshop varies from our previous Supporting Self-advocacy workshops.

$80 per community organisation participant
$110 per government / corporate participant
