Brave Elica battles an age old problem
GEELONG'S Elica Petroski is 36 and fighting to stay out of aged care.
She has lived all of her years with cerebral palsy at home with her caring family but a cruel deterioration in her condition during the past five months means she is now dependent on 24-hour care.
If the state's disability support system fails to find an appropriate place, aged care might be her only option.
"I'm not old enough to be there. I like my freedom," Miss Petrovski said with a measure of defiance yesterday.
