DisabilityCare
The National Disability Insurance Scheme
What does it mean for you?
We want to hear from you about how DisabilityCare, the National Disability Insurance Scheme, will impact on your life. We are offering you the chance to informally discuss how you can make best use of the new arrangements and the chance to learn more about what the changes to disability services in the ACT mean for you.
The launch of the NDIS in the ACT in July 2014 is set to bring changes in the way that people with a disability access support and will bring more opportunities for people with a disability to make choices and have control over their lives.
The ACT NDIS Expert Panel is co-hosting a workshop to look at the issues raised for people with a disability by the introduction of the NDIS. The workshop is an informal session designed to share information, learn about the scheme and raise issues that are of concern to you. This will be the first in a series of discussions and conversations with our community as we work toward DisabilityCare starting in the ACT.
Key Issues to be explored include
· What does choice and control mean to you
· What will you need to choose
· What does planning mean to you.
· How can we prepare people for choice and control
