The Canberra Living Conditions Network Alliance has arranged for
hoarding and squalor training in Canberra in May 2013. This will be
presented by Mercy Splitt from Catholic Community Services, who have
been offering specialist squalor and hoarding services in NSW since
2008.
There will be two one-day introductory workshops, about working with
people affected by hoarding and squalor. Mercy will also facilitate an
additional intensive workshop, using case studies brought by
participants.
The Canberra Living Conditions Network Alliance is a group of agencies
in Canberra seeking to provide and improve services to support people
seeing to make changes to their living conditions. The Alliance looks at
sector issues, including the need for training such as these workshops,
and has also started monthly Working Group meetings to coordinate
support for individuals.
* The next working group meeting is on Thursday 18 April, 10am-12noon.
* The next sector development group meeting is on Wednesday 8 May,
3-4.30.

Note that, if demand is greater than the capacity, there may be a limit
