This week the music of ELENA KATS-CHERNIN (1957 -)
3 special tracks including a Piano Concerto with the Tasmania Symphony
Orchestra and her Russian Rag
Elena Kats-Chernin was born in the city Tashkent and came to Australia aged
nineteen in 1976. She studied at the New South Wales Conservatory of Music,
where she won two prestigious prizes.
Her piece 'Russian Rag' introduces Philip Adams' evening talk-back show on
ABC Radio.
Elena's music has a conventional theatrical performance base and she is in
the front rank of newly emerging Australian composers.
