Anyone interested in learning to support people with disabilities to speak
up for themselves within a human rights framework : community and support
workers, family members, teachers, coaches, neighbours - you.
What:
In this course you will learn about:
Human rights for people with disabilities, including guiding documents,
conventions and law
Advocacy, self-advocacy and supported decision making
Balancing duty of care, dignity of risk and self-advocacy
Skills and strategies to assist people to develop their self-advocacy
skills
