June workshop for Service Providers to learn from W.A. experience with Individualised funding.

invites Services preparing for the NDIS
Thursday
27th
June
9:30am -12:30pm

National Disability Services
33 Thesiger Court,
Deakin
An interactive workshop hearing of the Western Australian experience

Drawing on stories from WA, the workshop will focus on choice and control,
individualised and person-centred support, community inclusion and
flexibility for people living with disability.
Given
the take-up of WA's LAC approach at a national level through the NDIS, this
event is a good opportunity for people to explore how the role works with
individualised budgets - the benefits, the challenges and what organisations
need to think about and be prepared for.
About the
Presenter
The
workshop will be led by Bronia Holyoak who worked as a LAC Local Area
Coordinator and manager for more than 15 years. In March 2012, Bronia
founded Valued Lives, a new Western Australian organisation committed to
enabling people to self-direct their own supports and services to the extent
they desire.
