AGSC UPDATE

I will be in Canberra from 2nd - 5th April for private consultations, a social skills course for 5 - 8 year olds and an Information Seminar. Check out the details below and also see what we are doing at this year's ACT camp

Consultations and Assessments

This could be for Assessment or counselling consultations or school consultations.

Cognitive Assessments

We are now able to offer a brief IQ assessment - the K-Bit 2 ( Kaufmann Brief Intelligence Test, 2nd Edition). This test assesses both verbal and non verbal skills and has a .77 correlation with the FSIQ and .84 with the GAI on the WISC IV.

This can be done as part of our Full Comprehensive Developmental Assessment or as a stand alone assessment.

ACT Camp 16th - 18th May Theme: Out of this world.

Have you been out of this world: perhaps to a Minecraft world, Hogwarts, Narnia or another planet? Did you spend time with Doctor Who, Darth Vader or on a Deltora Quest? Have you travelled to the past or the future? Have you been in a parallel universe? What is it that makes them so intriguing?
No matter which Fandom you belong to, which world or kingdom you enjoy this camp will give you a chance to meet others like you, who love these other worlds, know the characters, enjoy the quests, understand the challenges and levels. Come along and join in activities which require your imagination, your creativity, your scientific problem solving abilities and love of other worlds.

DEVELOPING SOCIAL SKILLS AND ENCOURAGING FRIENDSHIPS IN YOUR GIFTED CHILD OR STUDENT

This workshop will look at the social and emotional characteristics of gifted children and consider the impact precocity and asynchrony have on developing productive social skills and the establishment of quality friendships. Based on the Stepping Stones Social Skills courses we will consider a range of practical strategies teachers and parents can implement to support their gifted students or children. There will also be opportunities to share your questions, joys and concerns about your own child/student's development.
