Autism Asperser ACT (AAACT) cordially invites you to the launch of the World Autism Awareness Month at the Go Blue Canberra for Autism Morning Tea at the Southern Cross Club, Woden, on 1 April at 10am.
Throughout the month of April, AAACT in collaboration with other organisations across Australia will be celebrating Autism Awareness Month to raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and the challenges that people with ASD and their families and carers face on a daily basis.
Activities happening during April include: ASD workshops for children and adults with ASD and their families; the ‘lighting up blue’ of Telstra Tower, the National Gallery and Old Parliament House; a “Sizzling Blue BBQ” hosted by the Department of Immigration; a Twilight Walk; and an Open Day at AAACT offices in Chifley – a full calendar of events is attached.
AAACT also encourages other community organisations, government departments and businesses to ‘go blue during April’ to help raise awareness of ASD, and to raise money to assist the vital work of AAACT – ways you can get involved include: wear blue day; bake blue; have a blue BBQ; wear blue shoelaces; have a ‘blue’ trivia night.
Funds raised through the Go Blue Canberra for Autism! campaign during Autism Awareness Month will be targeted at enhancing and expanding AAACT’s Siblings Program.
Please RSVP to Leanne on 6176 0514 or by email to admin@autismaspergeract.com.au by 31 March 2014 to confirm your attendance at this very important community function.
