Violence in disability group homes: Call for studyparticipants

Volunteer study participants needed:

Violence and abuse in disability group homes - Support worker
perspectives


Research by social work student at Australian Catholic University,
Canberra


Principal Investigator: Peter Humphries

Student Researcher: Ellen Read

Student's degree: Bachelor of Social Work (Honours)



Looking for disability support workers who:

* Work in disability supported accommodation (housing around
1 to 6 people)
run by any agency in the ACT, or have worked in these settings in the
last 3 years.

* Identify with having been involved in, experienced or
observed violence or abuse in disability supported accommodation in ANY
way (any experience seen as relevant by the support worker).

* Want to share their experiences and perspectives in a
report.
Privacy and confidentiality of participants and the organisations they
work/ed at will be respected.



Participants will:

* Participate in an individual interview for around 1 hour
at a mutually convenient time and location.

* Have their perspectives included in a report and help
bring more information about the issue.
