Their Life, Our Rights: Supporting Self-advocacy and Human Rights workshop - 17 June

Money raised from our training supports our self-advocacy courses, free to people with disabilities.

Understand human rights for people with disabilities and how they may be applied every day
Gain confidence to support people with disabilities making their own decisions
Gain skills to promote and support self-advocacy

Come along to a "Their Life, Our Rights: Supporting Self-advocacy and Human Rights" workshop

Who:
Anyone interested in learning to support people with disabilities to speak up for themselves within a human rights framework : community and support workers, family members, teachers, coaches, neighbours - you.

What:
In this course you will learn about:
* Human rights for people with disabilities, including guiding documents, conventions and law
* Advocacy, self-advocacy and supported decision making
* Balancing duty of care, dignity of risk and self-advocacy
* Skills and strategies to assist people to develop their self-advocacy skills
* Local resources & information

Cost:
$110 per community organisation participant +GST
$150 per government / corporate participant +GST
