Branch Out Disability Services would like to announce an exciting opportunity for young adults with a disability who have a green thumb!
We recently announced that Branch Out had been successful in tendering for a new social enterprise café and community garden at the Education and Training Directorate in Stirling. The café has since opened, and is enjoying support from all of the onsite staff. The next stage will be beginning to prepare for the launch of our community garden project which we hope to have up and running within the next few months.
In preparation for this, Branch Out would like to offer a short term 'Garden project' to be based at the Carers ACT office at 2/80 Beaurepaire Crescent in Holt. The Garden Project will consist of 3 participants being supported by an experienced and qualified support worker to create recycled garden beds out of wooden pallets and planting them out with herbs and spices to be used in our 'I Love Cooking Club'. The Garden Project will be run for four consecutive Mondays from 9am to 12pm beginning on May 11th and ending on Monday June 1st. The cost for attending the Garden Project will be $5 per hour for the initial 4 sessions for participants not yet transitioned into the NDIS and for participants with an approved NDIS plan this service will be delivered under support item 23011 and will be priced accordingly.
To register for the Garden Project, please call the Branch Out Team on 1800 272624 as early as possible to avoid disappointment as we have only limited places available.
