Interviewing for the following positions in support of Self-Managed NDIS
Disability Support Plan for 2 boys, aged 8 and 10.
1. FAMILY LIFE COACH - Objective to find a suitable candidate to act
as facilitator and regulator for Circle of Friends for 2 children on the
Autism Spectrum. Will be a Paid Position via NDIS funding. Candidates must
have a strong focus on community integration and family support. Strong
communication, liaison and negotiation skills, and have strong
administration skills to assist with the coordination of family and
community activities to provide a quality lifestyle based on the interests
and talents. Understanding of the theory of the 4 Capitals and the concept
of Citizenhood a definite advantage.
2. PERSONAL TRAINER - Sports facilitator to design sporting activities
and fitness training, ball skills, battle camp training and team spirit to
align with community activities and integration goals. Experience with
non-verbal disability appreciated but not necessary. Your clients will be 2
parents and 2 boys aged 8 and 10yrs. Parents will act as support shadows
while you model programs and coordinate activities. Objective to develop
skills that will assist with integration into community, and weekend family
activities.
3. MOBILE SPEECH PATHOLOGIST/STUDENT THERAPIST - Mobile Speech
pathologist to do regular in-home visits to work on both verbal
communication skills and alternative communication skills.
4. 2 x BIG BROTHERS/SUPPORT COMPANIONS - Role will involve assisting
family to participate in Community outings, activities and other interests
total 3-6 hours on weekends. Must have a keen interest in Adventure, FUN and
laughter, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and well-being.
Enjoying your work, you will become an extension of the family, taking on a
role similar to extended family/cousins/Uncles. Looking for 2 people who
will think outside of the box, to enrich experiences, and to act as
ambassadors for your clients to help with community integration and
acceptance by others within the community. Client Self-care and life skills
are fairly good, but keeping a big brother eye on general hygiene and
cleanliness would be appreciated.
5. AFTERSCHOOL AU PAIR - Looking for after school Au Pair for family
home - Belconnen area. Manage after school activities, tutoring and
therapies, house-keeping, and cooking family evening meal. Mon - Fri 2pm to
6pm. Looking for a nurturing and caring person with a good eye for detail,
and interested in building a strong trusting relationship with family and
children, while maintaining a strong sense of order, and household
organization. Experience with non-verbal disability appreciated but not
necessary. It is your commitment, perseverance and creativity that are
important. Position will also include an occasional evening (3-4hrs) for
respite break for parents.
6. ABA THERAPISTS - Looking for 2 qualified ABA Therapists to
facilitate ABA Program for 8yr old boy. Program will run 4-6pm Mon, Wed, Fri
and 9am to 12pm Sunday Morning.
7. OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST/STUDENT THERAPIST - Mobile Occupational
Therapist to do regular in-home visits to work on sensory issues and fine
motor skills.
