Position title Project Officer (Junior)
Organisation People With Disabilities ACT Inc
EFT/Hours 10 hours per week
Location Building 1 Pearce Community Centre 1, Collett Place, Pearce, Canberra 2607
Reports to Executive Officer
Tenure 6 months with possible extension
Contract position. $25.00 per hour
Position Summary
• This position is a specific project position. The occupant will work with and to the Executive Officer to achieve the following outcomes for PWD ACT:
- Arrange meetings with key staff and Committee members of PWD ACT's organisational members to ascertain the access needs of their members and the access barriers encountered by their members;
- Prepare a report of these meetings setting out the issues identified by the various organisations expressed through their representatives; and
- Organise a public meeting at which the report is presented and discussed, and
- In line with decisions made at this meeting, prepare a draft Budget submission for consideration by the PWD Board, and which will be sent to the ACT Government.
Key Selection Criteria (not necessarily in order of importance)
1. Ability to conduct and manage a specific project
2. Excellent oral, written and computer communication skills
3. Relevant experience or social science qualifications
Additional Information
Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S): All employees are required to carry out their duties in a manner that does not adversely affect their own health and safety and that of others by reporting all incidents and injuries as well as cooperating with any measures introduced in the workplace to improve OH&S.
Pre-existing injury: The person appointed to this position will be required to disclose any pre-existing injuries or disease that might be affected by employment in this position. This will assist the agency in providing a safe work environment for staff.
