Positions Vacant-Carers ACT

Carers ACT is the leading organisation dedicated to improving the
quality of life for Carers in the ACT. We have been representing the
interests of over 43,000 Carers and their families since 1991. Our
mission is to campaign with and for Carers to advocate for the systemic
support they need. We also provide services to support Carers needs
and the needs of the people they care for.

We currently have 2 vacancies.

Manager-Carer Support Services

Reporting to the Executive Director - Carer Services, the Carer Support
Services Manager provides quality leadership to deliver a variety of
contracts, retain effective stakeholder relationships and ensure our
programs and services meet legislative requirements and national
standards.
The core functions of the role include:


* Delivering programs that meet Carer needs;

* Manage contract fulfilment to meet relevant compliance and
standards requirements;

* Leading, coaching, developing and appraising staff to enable
achievement of program and organisational goals;

* Proactively develop sector partnerships for optimal engagement
of new Carers and to develop knowledge of issues impacting on the
community services sector;

* Input to the business plan, continuous improvement and risk
management initiatives.
To be successful in this vital role in the organisation, you will have
excellent leadership and people management skills, including a
collaborative style, be highly competent in developing and maintaining
both internal and external relationships, have relevant tertiary
qualifications and a minimum of two years experience at management
level.

Policy and Research Officer

Reporting to the Communications and Policy Manager the Policy and
Research Officer is required to

* Develop policy documents which represent the views of carers
* Prepare policy content for various mediums as directed, including
reports submissions, Carers ACT website and newsletter
* Participate in policy projects as necessary to ensure that key
goals are met by the team and the organisation.

Tertiary qualifications (or almost completed) in any of the following:
